ULI Richmond Presents – Learn About Reality Check 2013
How would you like to see the Richmond Region grow?
What if someone gave you a map and asked you to draw Richmond 30 years from now?
How will future growth impact economic development?
To help answer these questions, Reality Check, ULI's premier planning program is coming to Richmond on May 14, 2013. The ULI Richmond District Council, in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University, will join a list of many prestigious regions like Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Hampton Roads that have hosted a Reality Check Program.
Throughout 2012 ULI Richmond presented programming to help our attendees understand the challenges and opportunities in the Richmond Region in areas like housing, infrastructure and economic development. Now it's time to build on that programming.
Reality Check 2013 is the largest community-wide initiative that ULI Richmond has undertaken and it cannot be accomplished without the support of ULI Richmond members, businesses, planners and donors. The Reality Check Steering Committee is developing goals for the project and wants your input. We invite you to get involved now as we prepare for Reality Check.
Keynote speaker Ed McMahon, Urban Land Institute Senior Resident Fellow, will speak about the ways Reality Check is relevant to our community. McMahon is an attorney, community planner, lecturer, author and expert on the topics of sustainable development, land conservation, urban design and historic preservation.
Please join ULI Richmond and VCU on Thursday, August 16th at 7:30 am for a discussion about Reality Check. This is an opportunity to learn more about Reality Check, and to discuss what you would like to see from this program.
