John graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1983 and headed to Chicago to work and attend graduate school at the University of Chicago. At M. Myers Properties (later Prairie Management), John led a group managing 5,000 housing units and 250,000 square feet of urban self-storage in Milwaukee and Chicago.
