    Architects, owners, and developers frequently overlook the role of retail as an anchor in mixed-use environments. A thoughtfully designed retail, restaurant, and entertainment space can catalyze the success of mixed-use environments by establishing destinations, serving as an amenity for other uses, and creating a sense of place. By prioritizing the design of retail spaces and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders early in the development process, owners can maximize the potential of retail spaces.
