    Commuter behavior is changing, in part due to technological development. Mass-transit ridership is in decline nationally across bus, light rail, and commuter rail. The proliferation of ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft is partly responsible. Ride hailing may soon receive a boost from driverless technology.
