    Washington, D.C., is leading the way to a more sustainable future with plans that foster neighborhood resilience. New projects by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) are shoring up civic infrastructure and fulfilling the agency's mission of wellness, conservation, and universal access. The panel will discuss the part sustainable facilities play in equitable design, community resilience, and green infrastructure. Case studies include plans for the National Mall, and the first community center with integrated natural ventilation, designed on biophilic principles as a resilient hub in the face of floods and power outages....

Anderson is the Director of the DC Department of General Services (DGS), a government agency with a mission to build, maintain and sustain the District of Columbia’s real estate portfolio, which includes more than 157 million square feet of land and 35.7 million square feet of state-of-the-art facilities.
